Farod in Spring

Yaron's mother passed away in Purim, so every year the family go North to Yaron's original kibbutz, "Farod" and we have a memorial service at the grave. It usually means placing fresh flowers on the grave and saying some words. Saba was the leader... now he is gone - so this time, Dalya read a touching letter that Chava had written to Saba - while he was in prison in Cyprus, trying to come to Israel after the Holocaust. He had somehow found out that after Auschwitz, Chava had come to Israel. He got a letter to her and she wrote to him.. Their love was still strong after all the years of seperation - the holocaust... the pain.
He said he would go to the ends of the world to come to her. She spoke of her pain and how she was recovering with the help of certain friends in the kibbutz. They were eventually reunited and started a new life, a new language on Kibbutz Farod. She passed away when Yaron was 6.

Moriyah and me.

As Purim is in Spring, the Galilee flowers are lovely. "Rackefot, and kalaniot" are in abundance. Seemed like just yesterday we were there when Kai and Tess were 4 and 6....

Cyclamen (Rakefet) Was talk of it being Israel's national flower, not sure if official though.
