In August while Kai and Tess were having an amazing time in SA with my family..........we had a birthday. Moriyah finally turned 5, after saying she was just that since she was 4.
Hila made a beautiful card.
A Korean family visited us, what a blessing! Their worship exceeds most that I have heard in passion and depth.
This is actually from July but I forgot to mention how much Hila improved in swimming. She is no 1 in breaststroke in the Negev.
The war dragged on and all over Israel were encouraging signs, this one says that the Midreshet Ben Gurion community is hugging the soldiers and praying for their save return. Some of our boys were in Gaza, incl Arthur's son.
The entrance to the Midrasah has family tiles.
Our family painted a menorah, signifying each child with the only boy of course in the middle.
Our children spent lovely time together as a 5-some without the older girls, but we really missed them a lot too!
We spent last sweet days with dearest Hannah and took her new glasses shopping in B7. What fun we had just girls.
Moriyah's birthday party was small and sweet - at the pool with a homemade doll cake. I thought I did very well as usually Tess does the cake creations.
We hung out at Ben Gurion park a lot and twice Hila got to play Frisbee with strangers. Both her and Amitai have become very good at playing Frisbee.
Sadly I fed the Maayan family for the "last times" they were here in the Midrasha as they packed up for Jaffa. Sorely missed!
And Jacob Lansford became part of our family and got to share in all aspects of the crazy, happy, grumpy and loud Glik family
Kai and Tess's return was a highlight for the children and they prepared posters for the airport. Amitai listed it as one of his highlights of the holiday.
One day after their return we had to hand Kai over to the army. It was an emotional day, Aug 20th...
But she was home soon for the first weekend.
Our basement where we do most of our living now, seeing its where the kitchen is....
And then the event of the month was 2 immersions in one day.
Hila heard a voice telling her to open her bible after she prayed about whether or not she should be... She was so excited
Tess also decided this day was her day to be immersed.
The pole or bar in the water separates Jordan from Israel. This spot apparently the more authentic spot is shared with the Jordanians. It was a weird thing. Pilgrims on the other side also came into the water for the immersions.
Sean gave us a brief teaching - he is excellent both with children and adults.
Then we went to Ein Zukim or as it was originally called Ein Fashcha as Yaron remembers it,,,, and what fun the children had.
We picnicked and sat in the warm natural spring water
The children had the most fun sliding down this mossy water channel
into this pool.
So there you have it, hot August and lot more but not told in pictures!
