Volunteers and moving

Meet Iris and Johannes - the first time we ever had volunteers.  They come from East Germany, Johannes is a carpenter and Iris works with children.  They spent almost 3 weeks with us, helping Yaron build, us move and travelled in between.
God was good to them, providing them a free spa treatment from the family that Yaron and Johannes built a room for and our friend Shai gave them a free hot air balloon trip.
Our kids loved them and I was so glad to have their help and company.  A beautiful couple.

Iris cooked us a lovely dinner more than once. It was a treat.

Here we taste her meatballs, creamed spinach and mash.

Iris also did various crafts that other
children visiting could enjoy.

One day we had a lovely day of dough making, and puzzelling,
We also enjoyed Esther from USA who was helping
the Dutch Esther with her new baby,
plus Naomi H from Ezuz - and I would pack a box or two for the impending move..

A typical mess after Eliyah eats.
Now this craft was a hit and a science experiment too!
You take filter paper and with felt pens (koki's) you draw and intricate pattern,
like Hila did (see further below)

Then you make a hole in the center and twist a paper
napkin, or loo paper and place it in a glass of water.
The water creeps up the paper and eventually into the center of the
filter paper design, causing the colours to slowly creep out
and you get an amazing effect.  Hila then made them into flowers!
This experiment kept the children occupied for hours and they did it
over and over.
Now we had to move eventually - our new house we are building
has a long way to go and so we found a cute house for an ok rent
and moved into it during August.  Moving was never so stressful - I am so glad that Iris, Johannes and the girls were here!  Plus Roy helped paint and regrout the mouldy bathrooms and after
all the help - what a lovely house it is.
But the patio was a mess for 2 weeks and each time more boxes arrived I wanted
to run away. We have too much stuff and so we had to store away a lot of the
guest house things for the new house.
Tired workers in the new house.  Iris quite rightly didnt want to see
anothe window!  Kai and Iris really cleaned a lot of windows. I think this house
hadnt been cleaned in some years.

The big appeal for the children was a bath.  After 4 years of
just a shower or a tiny baby bath in the shower, this
is the bee's knees!  5 in 1.  What a splash.
Then we had to stay goodbye to Iris and Johannes,
but we hope to see them again!
Now, 3 weeks in the new house, we have finally settled in.
But one week ago Dongdiet (our Sudanese brother) helped bring the "rest"
of what was in the old house.  aieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
what a funny pic, look at Amitai's face!
This "agalool" from the kibbutz days has served us well. It moved half the house
3 times over in our lives.

In the midst of moving, there was babysitting going on too!
Kai and Tess made some money.

Look at what I had to sort and all the rooms and
cupboards were full already!
But we did it, and next post you will see the rooms.

Gosh Kel the move must have been horrendous but what wonderful people you had to help you. The two amazing volunteers came just at the right time. Gods perfect timing! Iris did amazig craft things. How wonderful for the children. The dear Sudanese chap helping you move too. That was something having to push huge items in the agelaar. The Lord blessed you with such wonderful helpers. You did a sterling job sorting all the things out and finding space for so much and then coping with daily chores like being a mom and wife. You amaze me!! The house from the pics you sent us looks so homely. God bless your time in your new abode until the day you can move into your very own home. Love u all Mumsalgran
