סחוג
Sss-choog - if you can say that you can say almost anything in Hebrew!
We make this all the time, its a permanent thing in our fridge.
Now its the GREEN schoog (as you get a red one) and Ive adapted it to our taste and its GOOOD! People always ask for the recipe!
You need some helpers!

Place in a blender about 5-6 green chillies with the pips.
One whole lemon, pips and skin removed.
One full garlic, peeled.
2 bunches of coriander (big bunches)
tablespoon olive oil
tablespoon salt (according to taste)
4 full tablespoons of cumin
1 tablespoon ginger
Blend till all fine and scoop into jar and coat top with olive oil.
We eat this with bread, humus or just with butter on sourdough. Its delicious!Even Amitai and Hila love it.
Its not too hot, depends how many chillis you use.

I made focaccia bread with olives for Shavuot with the family and Kai copied something we ate in Beersheva at Nafis - it is smoked eggplant with tehina (served warm) UmmmmHMMM really really good.(Did I ever mention that Kai is a great cook! And she is only 14!)
Shavuot in Israel is all about dairy and we bought the BEST cheese at Dalya's request from Kornmehl Goat farm down the road. Their cheeses are magnificent and one of them (the one I love most) is matured for 18 months before you eat it. No wonder they are $$$$ but worth it once a year hey!
We enjoyed the company of the Gliks including Maya Ben Ami (her uncle was adopted by Yaron's family in the kibbutz years ago - she is studying here at the Midrasha desert college) Her sister almost won American Idols, Didi came in the top 10.
Yafah discusses Hila's Hebrew workbook with Tess. Homeschooling always comes up (almost always) in these family meetings. This time Yafah was so impressed by some of Tess's Hebrew writing - that was encouraging!
Dalya won Na'amah and they were best of friends for the evening. Well done Dalya!

And as for Mory, she is the happiest almost all of her waking hours!
2 lovely young ladies! Maya and Chen
